“I want the Turbo Man action figure with the arms and legs that move and the boomerang shooter and his rock’n roller jet pack and the realistic voice activator that says five different phrases including, “It’s Turbo time!” -Jingle All The Way
Here’s my Top 3 gear purchases from this past portaging season that I think should be on everyone’s Christmas list this year:
MEC Rad Pants: The return of the original. These would get demolished on a travel day during a lot of canoe trips, but I don’t think I’ve owned a better pair of campsite pants. Kinda goofy looking (and pricey). Whatever. Well worth it in my opinion. https://www.mec.ca/en/product/5061-829/Anniversary-Rad-Pants?colour=RST00
Campfire gloves: No more charred knuckle hair and loud profanity while simply trying to cook over a fire. No idea why I’ve waited so long to get a pair of these. Good for rearranging wood in the fire, too. These ones are really well reviewed and I’ve loved them so far. Also, “GRILL HEAT AID” is a hilarious name. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00MR3BPFC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_4VXMZT5ZZBFDT7BBQ922?psc=1
Eureka Midori 2: I’ve absolutely had it with lighter, ridiculously expensive mountaineering tents. Dependability/durability has plummeted across the board with the other major tent brands over the past few years, and with the negligible addition of a few more ounces, I’m completely sold on what I’ve seen with Eureka product so far in terms of quality. https://eurekatentscanada.com/products/view/580?s=section_10
