Where’s the snow?

Finding it hard to believe that we ever had snow. With temperatures rising above 10 degrees this week. The idea of a December trip is becoming a real possibility.  One last paddle, one last camp fire and one last wander through the woods.  I’m actually kind of torn. We’ve had a great paddling season but the snowshoes and pulks are calling now. Getting a little tired of the mud and rain. If there were any snow on the ground I think we’d finally put the maps away (for a few weeks anyways) .

Until then I guess we’ll keep checking the forecast and planning some quick weekend paddles. I know some of you got out this past weekend. We’d love to see some photos and hear how it was.

  1. I’ve paddled the last 3 sundays. Been amazing! Although my brand new snowshoes are feeling very neglected and I am anxious to test them out. Hoping to get some snow in algonquin next week. They’re calling for it, but the temps expected may melt it and turn it into a slushy wonderland instead of the winter wonderland we were hoping for . Do you paddle all year?

Lots of photos from my paddles on my blog at camperchristina.com Hope you like them! πŸ™‚

      • I’d love to hot tent but for first time winter camping, I’d like to see how it goes before spending all that money. I have decided to build the tipi. πŸ™‚ Wish me luck! πŸ™‚ Thanks for the inspiration! Sad I missed the chat last night but I had to work.

  2. I hear you! This weather has been unbelievable. I am grateful for it but wouldn’t mind a bit of snow. We are heading to Killarney for New Year’s so I am hoping there will be some snow there.
