Goodbye Algonquin.

We’re headed off with the family into Algonquin for a little relaxation next week. It’ll be our last visit of the season. We’re all very excited to get back out.

Our fall trips over the last few years have been polar opposites. Snow and sleet one year , sun and shorts the other. Weather will be weather and all we can do is take proper precautions and prepare accordingly.

This year is looking good. Temps hanging just above zero at night almost into double digits during the day. Cold nights and brisk days are welcomed with open arms.

The busy crowds of people clambering for shots of maple leafs and moose have left the park. It’s quiet and still.

Won’t be the last trip of the year though. A few trips to the Kawartha Highlands are planned still. Till the lakes freeze over we’ll be out there paddling away.
